1. What is In-Call BGM?
A feature that lets you play music downloaded to your device during a call. Currently available on iOS only.
2. What music can be played?
You can play the following:
- Karaoke hit charts provided by Parallel
- Music purchased in iTunes and downloaded to the device
- DRM-free music files downloaded to the device (e.g., your own creations)
DRM-free means content without digital rights management (DRM) technology that restricts duplication, or content you created yourself that has no DRM.
3. How to add music
a. Purchased via iTunes
- Open the iTunes Store app. (Install it first if needed.)
- Purchase the songs you want in the iTunes Store app.
- Go to the “More” tab and select “Purchased.”
- Download the songs you want to use in Parallel. When the button on the right changes to “Play,” the song is downloaded to the device. Once downloaded, it can be used in Parallel.
b. From a music CD
- Import the CD into iTunes on your PC and add the tracks to your library.
- Add the songs to your iPhone from iTunes via iCloud Music Library or sync. (See Apple’s support site for detailed steps.)
- On your iPhone’s Music app, open the track and download it (tap the “…” menu on the right and choose Download). After download completes, you can play it in Parallel.
c. DRM-free files
- Add the files to your iPhone from iTunes on your PC via iCloud Music Library or sync. (See Apple’s support site for details.)
- In the iPhone Music app, open the track and download it (from the “…” menu on the right). After download completes, you can play it in Parallel.
4. How to use In-Call BGM
1. Tap the Music icon
On the room screen, tap the music icon at the bottom.

2. Select & play the song
Tap the song you want; it will start playing.

3. Add songs to “Up Next”
While a song is playing, selecting another song adds it to Up Next. You can queue up to 50 songs.

When playing music stored on your device, you may only play tracks for which you have obtained the appropriate permissions from the rights holders. Please review our Terms of Use below.
