How to play Buzzer Battle Q

1. What is Buzzer Battle Q?

The rules are simple! In the quiz game Buzzer Battle Q, you buzz in to earn the right to answer. A correct answer gives +2 points; an incorrect answer gives −1 point. The game ends when someone reaches the target score or when the set number of questions has been used, and rankings are determined at that point.

  • The Owner can choose the target score, number of questions, and question category.
  • Only the Owner can select Play Again.

2. How to Play

a. Rule Setup

The player who starts the mini-game (the Owner) selects from three rule categories:

  • Number of Questions
    • Choose the maximum number of questions: 10 / 20 / 30.
  • Target Score
    • The first player to reach the target score wins.
    • Choose from 5 / 10 / 15.
    • Note: 15 points is available unless the total number of questions is 10.
  • Category
    • Choose the category of questions to be asked.

b. Quiz Time (Questions)

Questions are drawn from the selected category. Each question is revealed one character at a time. The first player to press the Answer button earns the right to answer. A correct answer awards +2 points; an incorrect answer incurs −1 point. After an incorrect answer, other players may buzz in and answer. After the question text is fully revealed, there is a time limit to buzz in; when it expires, it’s TIME UP.

Once you answer incorrectly, you cannot attempt that question again.

c. Answer Input

After earning answer rights, enter your answer one character at a time using the on-screen keyboard. Some keys are not used in the correct answer. If a player selects an unused character and answers incorrectly, subsequent players will see that character marked as unused.

d. Results

The game ends when someone reaches the target score or when the set number of questions has been used. Final rankings are determined by the scores at the end.

3. Creating & Playing Your Own Quizzes

a. Launch Quiz Creation

From Party Mini-Games, select Buzzer Battle Q, then choose Create Quiz.

b. Create a Question Set

Select New from the list to create a question set. With 10 or more questions, your set can be used in the mini-game. When finished, be sure to press Create on the Add Question Set screen.

If you press Cancel or leave the creation screen, your content will not be saved.

c. Edit / Delete a Question Set

Only the creator can edit or delete their question sets. After editing, be sure to press Create on the Add Question Set screen.

If you press Cancel or leave the screen, changes will not be saved.

d. Share a Question Set

Only the creator can share their question set. Anyone who taps the shared URL can add that set to a group of their choice. A question set added via a shared URL can be unlinked only by the person who added it.

If the shared set is edited or deleted by the creator, the changes will affect the shared version as well.
